Now the era of digital cameras has taken over, but that doesn't mean the analog and the film have been abandoned just like that. As the proof, the blockbuster movies such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Interstellar still used the Kodak-film. Yes, Kodak doesn't give up in producing the film, and the company wants to bring the film back!

Kodak brings back the Kodak Super 8 camera. It's been 50 years since the Super 8 original was introduced for the first time, and Kodak is now preparing to launch a new version of the Super 8 with a technology that has been adapted to the modern generation.

Digital does have its own advantages, as well as the analog. So, why don't unite both of them?

That's the idea of the new Kodak Super 8, its form is still similar to the old version, there is a leather grip at the top, but there's also stand grip under the camera so user can grip it like a pistol. This camera is also using the film cartridge of Super 8 as it used to be.

Nevertheless, the new Kodak Super 8 is made using high-quality materials. Kodak trusts the renowned designer Yves Behar to create a product that looks retro, but at the same time also feels very modern.

So what is the digitization form we can see in the new Kodak Super 8? Kodak Super 8 brings 3.5-inch viewfinder that can be tilted to help user to organize the composition. Then in the top of the camera you can see a facing forward microphone just like its 6 mm Ricoh lens - or the optional 6-48 mm zoom lens.

Kodak also gives attention to the digital connectivity aspect; behind the Kodak Super 8 you will find the SD card slot, HDMI and USB ports. The new Kodak Super 8 can be charged by using a USB cable and adapter just like a smartphone or tablet.

But the interesting thing is how Kodak wants all people; both professionals and consumers in general, can innovate by using Kodak Super 8. Whenever the user has finished the recording, he/she can send the film cartridge to Kodak. Furthermore, Kodak will process it into a digital copy and also the standard 8 mm film roll, and send it back to the user.

The new Kodak Super 8 is scheduled to go on sale in autumn this year.
