Although this is not its core business, Samsung fairly
diligent in issuing mobile applications that are specifically created for Samsung’s
products. Samsung considers that the software ecosystem plays an important role
in maintaining the users' loyalty.
Samsung recently launches a new Android application called
Soundcamp that allows users to enhance their DJ capabilities by using smartphones.
What makes the Soundcamp special is its support for a number
of third party applications that exist in Google Play Store. It's providing
digital instrument for the beginners and professionals DJ to integrate audio at
will without having to buy expensive DJ equipments.
Armed with DAW and MIDI capabilities, Soundcamp has complete
abilities for recording and editing. The main ability consists of various tools
of virtual instruments such as drum, keyboard, looper and recorder from
smartphones. Then there is Multitrack View feature that can accommodate up to
eight audio tracks or MIDI at the same time. In a separate panel, Soundcamp
also has audio recording feature that offers a variety of different effects.
Midi Editor View feature is designed for advanced users who
have been familiar with the MIDI modification process; this feature is designed
as easy as using a PC. The display of Mixer View is made similar to the console
mix, delivering easiness of mixing music and audio with fingertips.
In addition, Soundcamp also has other interesting
capabilities, such as the ability to create endless loops from the recorded
tracks, Sampler, and support feature for connection to Gear S2 smartwatch as
the control interface from the wrist.
From what is described by Samsung, Soundcamp is not for
everyone, especially if you're not a music enthusiast. But, Soundcamp can be
downloaded at any time for free from the Google Play Store if you want to try
it, even though it seems that it's only compatible for the Samsung's latest
devices such as Galaxy S6 edge+, S6 edge, S6, S5, Note5, Note 4, Note edge, Tab
S2, S and Galaxy View.
