Fitbit releases a new feature called SmartTrack

In the world of wearable devices, the name of Fitbit can be so popular not only because it often produces high quality hardware, but also because it often brings new significant features via software updates, making the users feel like having a brand-new fitness tracker.

The latest update will soon be felt by the users of Fitbit Charge HR and Fitbit Surge. The devices are just getting SmartTrack feature that serves to begin tracking and recording all of data automatically.

Yup, these two fitness trackers are now able to recognize automatically when you have finished the activities, and then identify the type of activities and forward the collected data to a companion application. Everything runs automatically without any intervention from the users.

SmartTrack feature is only able to recognize activities that involve continuous movements, such as walking, running, cycling or other kinds of sports such as basketball, football, tennis and Zumba. Users can set the tracking duration, so if the activity runs more than the determined duration, the device won't record data.

At the same time, Fitbit also gives an update to the PurePulse technology of Fitbit Charge HR and Fitbit Surge. With this update, the performance of the heart rate tracking when in Exercise Mode is claimed to be more perfect than before.

And what’s about the other Fitbit device users? Don't worry; users can now set weekly targets with a specific number of days. For example you want to laze for 2 days in the weekend, so you can set a target for 5 days only.
