Lately, the moving images or GIF or short videos are quite
popular among smartphone users. Perhaps It's influenced by the Live Photos
feature of iPhone 6S where the photos will be captured in the form of a short
video with a duration of about 2 seconds so that eventually the photos will seem
like moving.
This trend is also enlivened by Instagram, which last week
launched a unique application called Boomerang. The short video only has duration
of 1 second, but the video will be played back and forth.
Now the initiator team of VSCO Cam doesn't want to lose this
momentum. They introduce a new application called DSCO (pronounced like the
word "disco"). DSCO itself is a GIF maker app, but the GIF created
has its own unique elements.
The uniqueness comes from the use of filters. As we know,
VSCO is known for its diverse and qualified filters collection. For now there
are only five filters that can be tethered to your GIFs on DSCO, but the number
will certainly grow in the future, including the exclusive filters that are
developed with VSCO partners such as MTV or Opening Ceremony.
In the terms of appearance, DISCO has very minimal UI. The
GIF animations can be captured in duration of 2.5 seconds, before being
distributed to VSCO platform or other social networks. DSCO will save the GIF
files and MP4 videos in camera roll so you can share them anytime you want.
If you are also interested in sharing moving images or GIF,
you can directly download the DSCO for free in the App Store. Unfortunately
there is no word on whether its Android version will follow in the near future.
