During a visit to a website via a desktop PC or laptop, we
often see empty spaces on the left and right sides of browser. This design is
actually given to make you more focus on the content in the middle.
Nevertheless, we can still take advantage of the empty spaces.
One of interesting ways is by tethering a YouTube video. If
you use Google Chrome, you can do it with the help of an extension named
Sideplayer. This extension will bring the Pop Up Video feature ala Samsung
smartphone into your browser.
After you install this extension, you will see a button
which says "Play in Sideplayer" in any YouTube video link you visit.
Press the button, the video will play in a separate window that floats above
your browser tab. Even when you switch tab, the video will remain in its
position.
By default, the pop-up video will appear on the right top of
the browser, but you can move its position easily, and you can also adjust the
size by dragging the mouse cursor.
In practice, this extension is useful when you want to watch
a video while reading a related article, or when you're relaxing watching a
video from YouTube while reading to any recent news on your Twitter timeline.
Sideplayer can be obtained for free via Chrome Web Store. If
you want to stay productive while entertain yourself in the same time, you can
try this feature now.
