As had been rumored before, LG finally unveiled its latest
smartphone on September 21. LG officially introduced the LG Class with elegant
metal body.
The use of metal material is a drastic change from LG's
design philosophy over the years. If you see the LG G4, that flagship
smartphone still remains using plastic material, unlike its rivals that
eventually follow the trend, especially Samsung Galaxy S6. However, LG Class
may be an indication that LG is ready to create flagship smartphones with metal
material in the future.
This middle class smartphone still retains the button layout
on the back that has become the LG's hallmark. LG Class has a thickness of only
7.4 mm; this achievement may happen because of the irremovable 2,050mAh
battery, which again has changed the LG's design so far.
But the rumors about LG Class were not entirely right,
especially about its specification. LG Class carries a 5-inch IPS screen
resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410
chipset with 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage -
plus a microSD slot with support up to 2 TB capacity - and runs the Android 5.1
Lollipop operating system.
Furthermore, LG Class brings 13-megapixel rear camera, using
the same sensor that's found in LG G4. At the front, there is an 8 megapixel
camera that can be used to take selfie only by clench the hand in front of the
camera.
Unfortunately, LG doesn't plan to market this 4G/LTE
smartphone outside its hometown. In South Korea, LG Class is priced at 399 300
Won. There are three color options offered: Blue Black, Silver and Gold.
