Indeed, playing Twitter is fun; the Microblogging service
with 140-character limitation is now not only as a communication media but also
a means to obtain the latest information in real-time.
As a communication tool, Twitter does have its limitation
where users can only send messages containing 140 characters either for Tweets
or Direct Messages. But now you can smile because Twitter has removed the
140-characters limitation for Direct Messages.
As promised before, Twitter now allows the users to send Direct
Messages with more than 140 characters. But that doesn't mean the users can
send a DM without limitation as Twitter still limits the number of characters
up to 10,000.
This is not the first update for the Direct Messages, a few
months earlier, Twitter allows the users to receive or send DM without having
to follow other users beforehand. In addition, users can also send DM up to 20
recipients with DM Group feature.
DM or Direct Messages is Twitter's feature that allows users
to send private messages between users. With the removal of 140 characters
limitation on DM, each user can freely communicate privately with comfortably
without having to be limited by the number of characters.
This update is scheduled to be rolled out gradually starting
from the Twitter site, the official mobile app on Android and iOS, Twitter for
Mac, and later Twitter also plans to allow third-party Twitter applications
such as Tweetbot or Twitterific to get the same feature. If you use the
official mobile application of Twitter, you better to update the app immediately
through the Google Play Store or the App Store to enjoy the longer DM feature.
DM feature itself is considered to be one of the instant
messaging features in Twitter and will open an opportunity for Twitter to be a
complete communication tool. Another benefit of the limitation removal is the business
owners can use the DM feature to answer the questions or complaints from
customers with more complete explanations.
