Tesla starts to test the automatic steering technology

After a few months since the release of version 6.2 for the Tesla Model S electric sedan, Tesla is now beginning to test the software update version 7.0 which brings automatic steering technology. The test was performed with a number of selected Tesla Model S owners that acted as beta tester.

As reported previously, the automatic steering technology of Tesla is a little bit different from the automatic steering technology of other automotive manufacturers, which essentially allows the driver to leave the steering wheel and let the car to run by itself.

So what's the benefit brought by Tesla automatic steering technology? According to Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, the drivers of Tesla Model S will be more confident in driving their cars.

This system will keep the car remain on the right track, fitting the position of the car with other cars, and adjust the accelerator and brake pedals. In other words, you can drive as if the street is empty and no other cars at all.

In addition to the automatic steering technology, in the future Tesla reportedly will also create its own digital map service. The reason, according to the CEO, so far there is no digital map service that's really ideal for the automatic steering cars.
