It turns out that the negative perception which says that
the Android-based smartphones are vulnerable to the hacking attacks is quite
disturbing some smartphone vendors. And don't want to be defeated by the
hackers, Samsung plan to launch security update for their smartphones
regularly.
Dong Jin Koh as the Executive Vice President and Head of
Mobile Research and Development Office, IT & Mobile Communications at
Samsung Electronics. reveales the seriousness of Samsung to re-think about
their approach in protecting the users' devices.
Samsung assume that every day there are new ways exploited
by hackers to break into the software. They feel that they need to respond
quickly in launching security patches to protect the users' devices.
Then how often this update will be released? Samsung confirm
that they will launch the security patches for Samsung devices regularly every
month. But they are currently in talks with operators to implement this plan.
Samsung step is a series of processes that's initiated by
Google. On the same day Google make an announcement which says about the
release of security patches for the Android operating system through OEM
counterparts where Samsung also participate.
Google also ensures that Nexus devices include Nexus 4,
Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9, Nexus 10 and Nexus Player will start to
obtain the update this week and beyond every month.
