We can find quite a lot smartbands in the market, but
apparently smart ring is still rarely produced, especially one that's designed
very light just like a conventional ring. Now a startup from Finland wants to
be one of the pioneers that bring smart ring to the public.
Named Oura Ring, this smart ring is so light, perhaps the
size is still slightly larger than a conventional ring, but if compared to a
number of smart ring prototypes that have been created before, the Oura Ring
looks much more 'normal'. Oura Ring is equipped with a series of sensors to
monitor the user's various activities.
One of the capabilities of Oura Ring is to monitor the
quality of sleep. Without receiving any instructions, it can detect
automatically when you're sleeping. When you are sleeping, Oura Ring will
monitor the heart rate, breathing pattern and other parameters that are needed
to analyze the quality of sleep accurately.
On the other hand, when you are carrying out daily
activities, Oura Ring will continue to monitor various parameters. All the data
will be analyzed, and in the end, Oura companion app on your smartphone will
display Readiness Score, to indicate how ready you are in undergoing daily
activities.
Oura Ring is made of zirconia ceramic that looks gorgeous,
with a glossy or matte finish, depending on the choice of consumers. This smart
ring is waterproof to a depth of 50 meters and also scratch resistant. It is
ready to be worn at anytime and anywhere.
Oura Ring doesn't need to be paired with a smartphone to be
able to work; it will record all the collected data up to three weeks. The pairing
via Bluetooth is only needed when you want to evaluate the data that have been
collected. This smart ring is equipped with a battery that can last up to three
days. When the battery runs out, you just need to put the Oura Ring into its
case that's connected via Micro USB, and then the charging process will last
