Twitch is the right place for the fans of games; there are
many videos showing the live actions of popular gamers, but how if you want to
give ideas, suggestions, comments or video recommendations?
Don't worry, because Twitch has just introduced a new
feature called Whisper. This is a chat feature that allows the Twitch fans to
send private messages without having to leave the main window. This feature can
be found on the web platform and mobile applications.
Although embedded in the same window, the conversation in the
Whisper can only be seen by the sender and the intended users. By doing so, the
criticism, suggestions or secret things will only be known by those concerned.
Whisper can be used easily; users only need to type the
prefix /w followed by the username of the recipient. Furthermore, later Whisper
will automatically advise the users that have ever received previous chats.
This feature can be controlled through the settings panel; from there users can
restrict who may send messages via Whisper.
Twitch promises to develop this feature continuously, some
other features have been in their agenda, such as the offline messages, instant
messaging popup and others.
As for iOS and Android devices, Twitch has added support for
26 different languages as a form of dedication to its loyal users. Next it will
be very great if Twitch also adds group chat feature, well ... let's wait and
see.
