The giant social networking company, Facebook, has just
officially announced the new version of Facebook for Android with a lighter,
mini and simpler format. The developer team calls it 'Facebook Lite'.
This mini version of Facebook Android is actually not a new
toy, its presence had been wafted by the media and public in early 2015, but
Facebook hadn't officially announced it, or in other words it's still in the
development stage.
Now the Facebook Lite has been officially launched, the mini
version of Facebook for Android is intended for users who stay in areas that
have a slow internet connection. The majority of them are living in developing
countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Sudan, South Africa, Vietnam and
Sri Lanka. Some countries in Latin America and Europe are also included in the
scope of this application.
The application is designed so slim and light. The file size
is no more than 1MB, so it won't burden the smartphones with standard specifications.
This application brings some features such as News Feed, status updates,
photos, notifications, group conversation, and others. So, even though it's a
mini version, but Facebook Lite still offers the key features of Facebook for
Android.
But for users who feel that the features in Facebook Lite
are too simple, can still switch to standard application as long as the devices
and networks are adequate.
Facebook Lite has been launched to the Asian region on June
04, 2015, followed by several countries in Latin America, Africa and Europe in
a few weeks later. For those of you who want to try this application, you can
obtain it from the Play Store.
