A smartphone manufacturer from Spain, BQ is one of the
vendors that choose to do a different breakthrough to compete in smartphone
segment. Instead of following trend just like the most of device manufacturers
in the world, BQ prefers to make an Ubuntu-based smartphone.
BQ first breakthrough was begun with the launch of its first
smartphone in last February named Aquaris E 4.5, and recently this vendor has
just launched a successor variant called Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition.
Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition has wider screen than the first
variant, i.e. 5 inch with a resolution of 720p. This smartphone runs with
MediaTek chipset that packs quad-core Cortex-A7 processor speed of 1.3 GHz.
The chipset is accompanied with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal
memory to store important data, applications, music, photos and others. BQ also
provides this smartphone with 13MP main camera with dual LED flash, along with
additional 5MP camera on the front.
This dual SIM smartphone is expected to be sold in Europe in
the mid of June for $ 223. It’s fairly expensive for the smartphone that's made
by a new vendor. Moreover, some reputable vendors also offer the same priced
smartphones which have been supported with 4G LTE features.
There has been no information whether Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition will also be offered outside of Europe or not.
