Few weeks after launching the latest software update for
their flagship electric cars, Tesla is now introducing a new variant of the
Model S called Tesla Model S 70D. This variant is directly replacing the Model
S 60 as the lowest variant of the Tesla Model S line.
Although there is no significant change in the terms of
exterior and interior design, there are a number of improvements that make the
Tesla Model S 70D is quite interesting. The Tesla Model S 70D has brought the
all-wheel drive system which was previously only held by the top two variants
of the Model S.
The '70D' label indicates that the car is equipped with the
powerful 70kWh battery, which becomes the energy supplier for the pair of
electric motors. The maximum mileage of this car is about 386 km. The biggest power
output that can be produced is 329 hp, with a maximum speed of 225 km/h and
acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.
By default, Model S 70D is compatible with Tesla
Supercharger facility, unlike the Model S 60 which requires additional
component valued at $ 2,000. As the latest variant, the Model S 70D also
carries the latest software version, i.e. version 6.2. Tesla Model S 70D also
has been equipped with hardware that's compatible with the Tesla Autopilot
system which reportedly will be presented in the next few months through
version 7 software update. According to the plan Tesla Model S 70D will be
offered ranging from $ 75,000.
