Although currently preparing the presence of Windows 10, it
doesn't stop Microsoft to release a new device. Targeting the lower middle
class segment, Microsoft has just launched the Lumia 540 smartphone.
Talking about design, certainly this smartphone adopts the
style that has become the hallmark of Lumia. The body looks quite compact, with
a thickness of 9.4 mm and weight of 152 grams.
At the back of this smartphone you will find a cover that
can be changed following the user's taste.
At the front you will see 5 inch LCD screen with a resolution of
1280×720 (294 ppi), complete with IPS technology to establish the viewing
angle.
Behind the screen, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC
with 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. Microsoft Lumia 540 is also equipped with 1
GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, microSD slot with a maximum capacity of 128 GB,
Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi N.
Lumia 540 brings 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, but
even though using HD screen, the rear camera can only record video in 480p
resolution. For selfie needs, there is 5 megapixel camera with a wide angle
lens.
Furthermore, the Lumia 540 is equipped with a pair of Micro
SIM Card slots, and 2,200mAh removable battery, with an estimated usage for 6.9
hours for watching videos. The charging can be done via its micro USB
connection.
In the terms of software, Lumia 540 runs Windows Phone 8.1
operating system with Lumia Denim update. This smartphone will be ready to
receive Windows 10 update when it's officially rolled out in June - July 2015.
Microsoft Lumia 540 is planned to be marketed from the
beginning of May. It's offered at price of $ 150. There are four color options
you can choose: blue, orange, black and white.
