Warner Bros and Lego are now officially introducing LegoDimensions, connected toys line that's prepared as competitor of Skylanders and Disney Infinity.
The idea is to combine physical toys with video games. In
other words, Lego Dimensions will merge the Lego action figures into digital
world that's packaged in the form of video games for various consoles, ranging
from PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Nintendo Wii U - there is no information
regarding to PC version.
But not only ordinary physical toys and digital world that
want to be paired by the Lego Dimensions, but also a number of well-known
brands which are presented in the form of Lego toys. For beginning, Lego
Dimensions Starter Pack will bring Lego Batman, Lego Gandalf from Lord of the
Rings and Wyldstyle of The Lego Movie, plus Lego Batmobile.
Besides the three action figures and video games, the
starter pack will also include a Toy Pad, a medium to move the Lego physical
toys that are compatible to the video games. Without forgetting the main
principles of Lego, you would also be required to assemble the Lego Gateway
portal from the bars provided.
In the future, the Lego Dimensions content will be expanded
through various expansion packs which consist of three types: Level Pack, Team
Pack and Fun Pack. If combined, the various expansion packs will bring a number
of new characters, new vehicles, new gadgets and fresh content for the video
games.
In 2015 there are a number of expansion packs that will be
presented to complement the Lego Dimensions:

Lego Dimensions itself will be released on September 27,
2015. The official price for Lego Dimensions Starter Pack is $ 100.
