At the first time it came to iOS platform in 2010, Instagram
was only a photo sharing app with a very simple concept: You just need to
select the photo, crop it, choose the desired retro filter and then upload it.
Five years later, Instagram grew into a photo editing
application that's quite complete. Nearing the end of last year, Instagram
introduced Adjust feature, where users could edit the picture further, adjusted
various parameters such as brightness, contrast, saturation, white balance, and
so forth.
Following this trend, Instagram has just introduced two new
tools to complement their Adjust feature, namely Color and Fade. Both are
designed so that users can be more creative in their works.
As the name implies, Color tool allows the users to give a
tint of various colors in shadow area (dark) and highlights (bright). For the
users of VSCO Cam application surely have been familiar with this process. Simply
put, you can add a reddish or purplish color in shadow areas in a photo, or
vice versa, a yellowish color in bright areas such as a wall or ceiling. In
total there are 9 colors that can be applied as a tint, both the shadow and
highlight.
The second tool is the Fade, its allowing the users to give
the impression of fading on the overall picture. Once again, this tool is
similar to that's offered by the VSCO Cam application, add the impression of 'old'
in your photo.
These two new tools will be available in the latest update
of Instagram app; it has begun gradually to version 6.19.0 on the Android
platform, and few days ahead to version 6.10.0 on iOS.
