With the launch of Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2, and Pebble Core,
the focus of Pebble in the health realm becomes more stable. However, physical
health alone is not enough to describe the user's condition. The mental health
of user is also important, whether he/she is under stress or not.
To that end, Pebble has recently launched a new application
called Happiness App. As the name implies, this application is intended to
monitor the user's mood, and also learn the influence of mood fluctuations
against the user's everyday life.
To use this application, user will be asked to specify
his/her mood from time to time, accompanied by supporting data such as
location, activity, and with whom he/she met. Every week, Happiness App will analyze
the data and make a report via email.
According Pebble, Happiness App has managed to make some of
its employees to make changes in their daily life, such as more socializing
with colleagues, drink more water, or practicing yoga regularly. The
application is free and can be directly downloaded from the Pebble App Store.
At the same time, Pebble also decides to publish the
algorithm behind its tracking activity system, Pebble Health. As we know, this
application is developed with a team from Stanford University, and one of the
team members feels the need to publish the algorithm for the common good.
Pebble Health algorithm itself has several types, one of
them will detect and measure the movements, while the other will count the
number of footsteps, and also recognize whether the user is walking or running.
