It must be inconvenient if we had to get out of the chat
application only to search something on Google, and then back again to continue
the conversation with our friends. Is there any simpler way so that we don't
have to move from one app to another?
The good news is Google has just introduced a new
application called Gboard. Gboard is a keyboard app for the iPhone that allows
users to access Google search engine from any application.
Gboard's appearance is not much different from the default
keyboard of iOS 9. But at the top left of the keyboard you will see a Google
icon. Tap the icon, then a search box will appear, and you can search something
just like when you use Google Search app.
The search results are displayed in the form of card-by-card
that can be shifted to the left. For example when you are looking for a place,
the search results will display information that’s considered the most
important, such as phone numbers, ratings and opening hours. From there, you
can simply touch the "Share" button to share the search results
without bothering to copy-paste.
Gboard can also be used to search for images or GIF by
changing the tab at the bottom. It even can also be used to search for emoji
quickly. Just like the other keyboard applications, Gboard also supports swipe
gestures.
Gboard is now available for free on the App Store, and
Google promises to release support for more languages in the future.
