MSI will showcase its next generation ultrabook at Computex 2016

MSI, Computex 2016

A few weeks before the Computex 2016 held, Micro-Star International officially introduces GS73. The GS73 is one of the winners in Computex d&i awards in 2016, along with mini PC Cubi 2 Plus and Vortex. For now, the GS73 is still mysterious. The device hasn't had special page on the MSI website, and in the press release, this Taiwanese company only gives the product's outlining.

'Monster gaming device in a sleek design', this is a brief description of MSI GS73. Its body is made of black solid aluminum alloy, combined with the familiar brushed texture. Two lines at the back of the notebook don't look as aggressive as in the GS72, now the lines are pushed to the edge areas, without losing the impression of a sports car style. The grille heat sink is placed in the rear, framed by a red line.

MSI explained that the bottom is made by using forging technique in order to ensure the strength of the structure and make the body thinner. The metal plate in the middle can be customized by professional gamers to 'show off their unique personalities'. MSI hasn't explained the detail, but perhaps users may be able to put a name or esport team logo there

That's the only official information given by MSI. But interestingly, a number of European technology websites (Notebook Check Poland, Notebook Italia, Notik.ru) have discussed the MSI GS73 since early April. Most likely the notebook will bring 17.3-inch screen, of course with an update on the components inside. Intel Skylake chipset will be given there, accompanied by Nvidia GTX 970M graphics card.

To complete the standard USB 3.0 ports, MSI puts Thunderbolt 3 via USB 3.1 type-C, HDMI 1.4, mini-DisplayPort 1.2, combined with Bluetooth 4.0 as well as the Smart Wi-Fi 802.11ac. For keyboard, MSI collaborates with SteelSeries, presenting keyboard with LED backlight. Through the SteelSeries Engine’s software, the users can configure the keyboard, and also specify the colors in specific areas.

Besides GS73 Stealth, MSI is also preparing GS63 Ghost to strengthen the line of slim gaming notebooks on 15.6-inch class.
