Last year, we've seen Nokia's virtual reality camera that's
specifically made to meet the professionals' needs. Now the ambition has
apparently been met because recently Disney has signed a cooperation agreement
with Nokia in order to utilize the camera named Ozo in producing a variety of
VR contents.
As a renowned figure in the entertainment world, Disney
certainly understands that VR trend is getting popular today, and Disney has to
move quickly in order not to lose the momentum. Ozo seems to be the right
choice, considering one of the advantages of this camera is its ability to
render a 360-degree video in real-time.
Does it mean Disney will produce VR films? Probably not in
the near future, for now, Ozo will be used to work the complementary contents
for Disney films, for example is The Jungle Book movie's red carpet video and
the casts’ interview in 360 degree that will be released in the near future.
With this cooperation, the position of VR as a new format in
the entertainment context is getting steady, especially if we talk about the
Disney name, which is the owner of the Star Wars franchise and other major
films.
