WhatsApp has just announced that its application is now by
default using the end-to-end encryption procedure. It means that all the
contents such as text messages, pictures, voice, group chat and submitted
videos will be protected optimally.
To obtain this encryption feature users can simply update
WhatsApp application on their devices to the latest version.
According to the statement that has been published by
WhatsApp , now there is no one who could see the users' message contents; not
for internet criminals, not hackers, not authoritarian regime, and not even
WhatsApp itself.
End-to-end Encryption feature indeed becomes a feature
that's widely used by developers of messaging applications. Some applications
also have adopted this feature; among others are MegaChat, StealthChat, Signal,
Telegraph, and Apple iMessage for iOS.
For WhatsApp, this is positive progress on its efforts to
bring the encryption feature in recent months, an important update among many
innovations that apparently soon will also be rolled out. As previously
reported, WhatsApp was officially presenting the document sharing feature, and
then not long after that, the beta version was enriched with bold and italic
format, and also video trimmer feature which was recently tested on Windows
Phone devices.
It seems that WhatsApp is preparing a mature strategy to
compete with the Telegram that's getting popular these days.
