Generally the shape of drones we know is the X shape where
there is a propeller at each end, or we used to call it quadcopter. However,
the next question is ... can the drone be made in other shape? According to the
drone manufacturer from China, PowerVision Robot Inc., the answer is certainly
Yes!
The company is preparing to release its first consumer class
drone. Named PowerEgg, the main advantage of this drone is its unique design,
resembling an egg, but it can be transformed into a quadcopter.
In the off position, PowerEgg looks like a giant egg. It's
very lightweight, so this drone can be easily put into bag to be taken
everywhere. But when the On / Off button is pressed, the arms will emerge from
its sides, and the folded propellers will soon open up, become a flying egg.
PowerVision claims that this company has spent 1.5 years
more to enhance the PowerEgg design. This drone also packs a 4K camera that's
hanging on the 3-axis gimbal. While recording, it can also pass on the video in
real-time from a distance.
Unfortunately PowerVision hasn't disclosed the design of the
controller. Even so, this company promises a very simple control system that's
supported by the software. The rest is not much detail provided by PowerVision,
except the presence of special sensor to help the drone's navigation system in
the room. PowerEgg is planned to be marketed at the beginning of the second
quarter of 2016.
