Hug SmartWatch is able to control other devices by using gestures

Hug SmartWatch

Smartwatch not only can be used as a complement for a smartphone, its wearable concept can open other potentials, such as for a remote control of various devices, ranging from Oculus Rift until a drone.

That's the idea behind the creation of Hug SmartWatch. Developed by a startup from India, Hug Innovations, this smartwatch had become the center of attention when it was exhibited at Microsoft Future Unleashed event in last November, before finally it's ready for sale to the public soon.

Hug SmartWatch

Physically Hug SmartWatch looks pretty standard, with 11.2 mm thick case that's made of PC + ABS resin. It is compact and light with a weight of 46 grams, and it is also waterproof with IP56 certification.

Hug SmartWatch saves innovative advanced features, by integrating gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer sensors, Hug SmartWatch can recognize your hand movements, which means you can control other devices by using gestures.

For example to stop the video that's being played on a computer, user can simply wave his hand and pull backward quickly. The application of gestures is of course also very ideal to be used for a presentation, or just for having fun with drone or RC car.

Of course Hug SmartWatch also brings the standard features of smartwatch, such as activity tracking and heart-rate monitoring. This smartwatch is equipped with a 1.6-inch screen, in a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels, while the battery is expected to last up to 2 days of normal usage.

Hug SmartWatch is planned to be marketed exclusively through a renowned online retailer in India, Flipkart. Unfortunately there's no information about the price and availability for international market.
