Twitter has just launched a new feature called Twitter Moments. This feature is designed to provide convenience for the novice users,
it’s expected that users will have better understanding about the way Twitter
works.
Twiiter Moments will appear as a new tab next to the
Notification and Messages. When you open it, you will be greeted by various
moments or events that become trending topics at that time, complete with the
titles and short descriptions. The topics are varied, ranging from politics,
entertainment to sports.
In each of those moments, Twitter has set up a row of curated
tweets that are sorted chronologically - can be text, images, GIF and video
that's displayed in full-screen. The Tweets come from various accounts, no
matter if you've followed any of them or not. Therein lays the privilege of
Twitter Moments: You can get news update without having to follow anyone.
You can retweet or favorite each tweet listed, and at the
bottom, there is a progress bar to indicate how much contents left in that
Moments. When it is finished, you can share the Moments to your follower.
Another uniqueness of Twitter Moments is, you can follow a
moment/event, and then your timeline will be filled by curated tweets that are
derived from the moment/event. When everything is over, your timeline will go
back to normal.
Twitter Moments sounds so appealing because as explained
before, it allows users to access various contents on Twitter without having to
follow anyone. As we know, Twitter is one of the best sources to get updates on
the latest news, and Twitter Moments will give more access to get the news.
For now, Twitter Moments feature is only available for users
in the United States, but it will catch up to other countries in the next few
months. Twitter Moments can also be accessed from any devices and platform:
from the iPhone, from Android devices or from a browser on a PC or Mac.
Interestingly, if you find someone shares a link to a Moment, you can enjoy it
directly.
