HTC seems to have a lot of problems this year. Primarily,
this company won't steal the step of Oculus Rift due to delay in the release of
HTC Vive. And apparently the same fate will also happen to the HTC Grip.
This is actually not the first time HTC postpones the
release of HTC Grip. Announced at MWC 2015 in March, this smartband had been
delayed in July. At that time, HTC explained that it needed extra time to
enhance Grip based on the results of further testing and feedback from
customers.
Now, HTC announces the delay of HTC Grip's release schedule.
Speaking to Phandroid, HTC explains that Grip will be presented at least in early
next year. According to the plan, HTC Grip will be the part of an integrated
digital ecosystem that's developed together with the famous fitness products
brand, Under Armour.
Just a reminder, HTC Grip itself is the result of
collaboration between this Taiwanese manufacturer with the Under Armour. Just
like any other fitness tracker, the device is designed to monitor the daily
activities of its users. Physically it looks interesting, complete with its
curved monochrome touch screen.
In spite of that, of course, we still have to wait for the
arrival of HTC Grip at the beginning of next year. Referring back to the
statement about "integrated digital ecosystem", it looks like we will
see HTC Grip comes with a row of applications and other fitness accessories
from Under Armour.
