As we know, Apple TV new generation has a potential to
compete in the gaming realm. And apparently the third-party support will
maximize the potential of Apple TV in the gaming industry. One well-known
peripheral manufacturer, Steelseries, recently introduces a game controller
that's created to accompany the Apple TV new generation.
Named Steelseries Nimbus, this controller will certainly
provide a more complex playing experience than the Siri Remote of Apple TV. Its
appearance looks similar to Xbox controller, but with a parallel analog stick
layout ala PlayStation.
Because carrying MFI (Made For iPhone) certification, the
Steelseries Nimbus can actually be used with the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or
Mac. The connectivity to these devices can be done via Bluetooth. Nevertheless,
there is a Menu button in the middle that's designed to provide quick
navigation in Apple TV's tvOS.
Another interesting feature of the Steelseries Nimbus is the
pressure sensitive button so that users can get different effects in the game
depending on how hard they press the button. The controller is claimed to be
able to operate up to 40 hours nonstop - with the red LED lights in the middle
as a battery indicator - and it is equipped with Lightning port to recharge the
battery quickly, just like other iOS devices.
Steelseries Nimbus is planned to be marketed for $ 50 starts
from the end of October, of course, in conjunction with the launching of Apple
TV new generation on the market.
