On the sidelines of preparations to hold the Unpacked Event which
will be held on August 13, 2015, Samsung launches a number of latest tablet
devices in South Korea. The newest variant is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 which comes in
two different screen sizes.
Earlier on July 20, Samsung officially announced the
presence of two newest tablets, and the devices will be available for the
Korean market on 11 August.
If seen from the names: Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, we can guess that each of the tablet has a screen
size of 9.7 inch and 8 inch, where these measures have similarities with the
screen sizes of Apple iPad and iPad
Mini.
Both Samsung tablets are predicted will be the thinnest
tablets because the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has a thickness of only 5.6 mm
with a weight of only 392 grams, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 will only
weighs 272 grams. Both tablets are covered with a light metal material that
makes them look premium and elegant.
For the screen, Samsung has given the Super AMOLED display
on both Galaxy Tab S2 tablets, which is claimed to be capable of displaying 94
percent color accuracy of the Adobe RGB color standard with the support of 2048
x 1536 QXGA screen resolution.
In addition, the screen also brings Adaptive Display feature
to adjust the gamma, saturation, and sharpness of the screen so it will be able
to automatically adapt to the surrounding lighting conditions. There is also a
Reading Mode feature, where the screen lighting will also adjust automatically
so that the users can comfortably read the text on the tablets in a long
duration.
On the specification side, the two Galaxy Tab S2 tablets
bring Samsung's octa-core processor (quad-core 1.9GHz plus quad-core 1.3GHz);
3GB RAM; 3GB internal storage. As for
the connection, both of tablets have supported the LTE Cat 6 network.
Furthermore, there is a fingerprint scanner sensor as an
additional security feature, and also two cameras: 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP
front camera. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 uses a battery with a capacity of
5870mAh, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 is powered with a battery capacity
of 4000mAh.
The other interesting things in these two tablets are the
availability of pre-loaded applications which are ready to be used by users,
such as Microsoft Office application and a number of applications that are
adjusted for local users such as Travallon, Pooq, Edu ON and Papergarden.
According to the plan, the tablet device will be available
soon in the Korean market on 11 August, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 will be
offered at a price of 719 000 won, or about US $ 612, while the Samsung Galaxy
Tab S2 8.0 will be offered at a price of 599,000 won, or equivalent to US $ 510
per unit. There will also be a complete package for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2
9.7, along with an additional keyboard accessory, offered at a price of 799,000
won, or equivalent to US $ 680.
