It's difficult to separate the name of GoPro from the action
camera category, especially when we see it as a pioneer and leader in this
sphere. But on the other hand, consumers with limited budgets have a problem to
put GoPro in their shopping list, because so far GoPro devices come in quite
high prices.
In order to reach the middle class customers, GoPro has just
introduced a new action cam called Hero+ LCD. This camera can record video in
maximum resolution of1080p 60 fps and 8 megapixel photos, either in normal
mode, burst or timelapse.
From here we can see that the GoPro Hero+ LCD is not
designed to be a new generation of action camera. There is no option of 4K
video recording and slo-mo in the high speed here, but it actually still keeps
a number of unique features.
The first one is its design, where the Hero+ LCD in default
has been equipped with an anti-water casing that's ready to dive into a depth
of 40 meters. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are given to allow the users to control the
Hero+ LCD through a companion application on the smartphone or tablet.
But if you don't want to use a smartphone, you can use the
Hero+ LCD's touch screen. Through this screen, you can see the photos and
recorded videos directly on the camera. A button on the right can be pressed
while recording or watching a video in order to enable Hilight Tagging feature,
so you can mark the moments that will be shared later.
In addition to making highlights, Hero+ LCD also has
trimming feature. In other words, you can make short video clips without having
to move the video file first. Keep in mind, you still need a smartphone or
tablet to be able to share these clips on social media.
GoPro claims that Hero+ LCD can be used to record video up
to 2 hours nonstop. Moreover, the best part is, Hero+ LCD is also compatible
with most of the accessories that are designed for the GoPro action camera line.
GoPro Hero+ LCD will soon be marketed internationally
starting on June 12, with a retail price of US$ 299.99.
