Floating Record can play vinyl vertically

Floating Record

A startup named Gramovox recently introduces a unique turntable called Floating Record. The Floating Record is designed to play vinyl vertically, instead of horizontally just like most turntables on the market.

It means the Audio Technica AT95E cartridge is also positioned vertically, supported by an elegant arm made from carbon fiber. With this combination, the Floating Record is ready to accommodate the vinyl with a speed of 33 1/3 or 45 RPM.

Floating Record

Floating Record name itself is taken from its appearance when used. The vinyl that's being played will look as if it was floating, creating a visual impression that can't be equaled by other turntables. At the same time, the dimension is quite compact so this unique turntable doesn't take too much space.

The Floating Record looks as beautiful as the vinyl that's being played. Its frame is made of wood - you are free to choose between dark walnut or lighter mapler - while the vinyl seat is wearing acrylic material that has been polished.

Floating Record

In addition to adopting a unique design for a turntable, Floating Record is actually also a complete audio system. On the left and right sides, there are a pair of speakers powered by 2-inch neodymium driver and also a pair of 15 watts Class-D amplifiers.

Thus, the Floating Record can be used without the need for additional devices such as a pre-amp or the like. But if you prefer to use your own favorite speaker, you can connect it via RCA jack on the back, or plug in a headphone if you want to enjoy music without interruption.

If you still have vinyl collection and want to show it off to the guests who come to your home, you can order the Floating Record via Kickstarter. One unit of Floating Record is offered at a price of $ 349, while its retail price is expected will rise to $ 449 when the campaign is over later.
