As one of the manufacturers of Android Wear-based smartwatch
with pretty design, Asus has just introduced their new smartwatch.
Located at the Computex event, Taipei, Asus officially
introduces the Asus ZenWatch 2. The successor of Asus first smartwatch will
come with two sizes and three colors as well as 18 straps with various
combinations of laces and colors that can be chosen according to your taste.
The smartwach with AMOLED display and Gorilla Glass 3 comes
with several different appearances compared with the first version. One of them
is the metal crown at the edge of the smartwatch screen (similar to the Apple
smartwatch) that's useful for interacting with the watch. However, as quoted
from TheVerge, its function is not the same; it's only as an external button.
The smartwatch strap that's made from rubber material will
be available in blue, orange, red and taupe colors. There will be also leather
strap in khaki, brown, gray, blue, and orange. As for the stainless-steel strap
will come in silver, gunmetal and rose gold. Asus also presents a watch strap
that's equipped with a diamond in collaboration with Swarovski.
Asus ZenWatch 2 also comes with supporting application to
use the watch interface, tracking user's activity and fitness, as well as the
magnetic charger. According to Wearable site, Asus will use Qualcomm processor.
There are two sizes provided: 49mm tall stainless steel case with 22mm strap,
and 45mm one with 18mm strap. This smartwatch runs with the newest Android Wear
operating system.
Asus ZenWatch 2 is also waterproof - IP67 certified.
Although there's no information of how long the battery can last, but Asus says
that they has enhanced the battery capability rapidly, so it will be much better
that the first version.
The information about pricing, availability, and
specifications of ZenWatch 2 hasn't been announced, we will be able to get the
information around September at IFA.
