Nano Drone is no longer the smallest drone in the world. A
new project in Indiegogo called Wallet Drone seems ready to seize the title,
where the funding target has been exceeded despite its campaign is still more
than one month ahead.
Wallet Drone comes from the same developer team of Nano
Drone, i.e. Axis Drone. Nano Drone is a debutant product, and now the portfolio
of Axis Drone is enriched by the presence of Wallet Drone.
Again, a coin is used as a comparison to illustrate how small
this drone. Wallet Drone has dimensions of 4 x 4 x 1.75 cm, not higher than a
coin and not longer than an AA battery. Although its name is Wallet Drone, it
is still smaller than a wallet in general.
The Wallet Drone is so small; it can be stored in the controller
unit. When the controller is opened, you will see a special dock on four AA
batteries that can be used to recharge the Wallet Drone battery. The charging
process will last around 20 minutes, and Wallet Drone can fly for about 5-7
minutes. The controller is also very mini; its length is less than 11 cm so
that they can be stored in the pocket of pants or jacket with ease.
For specifications, it seems not many changes made by the
Axis Drone team. Wallet Drone is still using 6-axis stabilization system so
that it can fly stable despite blown by the breeze. In addition, there are 3
modes of speed which has been programmed so that even the beginners can operate
the Wallet Drone.
At first glance, Wallet Drone looks the same with its
predecessor. The difference is the absence of a protective frame around the
propellers, so it looks smaller and more compact. Nevertheless, the controller
unit which also doubles as a charger is quite innovative addition.
There are four color options offered for Wallet Drone. One
unit can be ordered for $ 40 (the lowest pledge at this time) through its
Indiegogo page, plus international shipping cost of $ 25.
