creates a user friendly action camera that can be used for fun activities.
Through Indie Gogo, The Boud introduces Pic Flex Cam.
According to the designers, the device is not just a camera, but it's 'an
extension' of you that can be integrated into all aspects of life. Pic Flex Cam
is made by blending practical videography technology and simple design solution
but very functional.
Pic Flex Cam has an elongated shape, with the lens module on
the head. Its appearance is made to resemble with the creatures in Monster Inc.
movie, where the lens acts as the eye.
The body of the device is very flexible, allowing you to form the Pic
Flex Cam as you like, or attach it on any object without additional
accessories.
Pic Flex Cam can be used easily. All you need to do is press
one button to access the basic functionality. For example, pressing a little
longer to activate or turn it off, press once for photo and twice to start the
recording process. Pic Flex Cam has obtained the IP7 certification; it's able
to record under water, as deep as 1 meter for 30 minutes.
Pic Flex Cam has fairly good basic capability. In the
prototype version, the camera has been equipped with 5-megapixel sensor with
124 degrees wide angle lens that can record in 720p resolution at 30 frames
rate. The Boud also equips this device with 16GB internal memory and 300mAh
battery for video capture up to 1 hour. It can be controlled via USB on-the-go.
Perhaps the target market of Pic Flex Cam may be equated
with Polaroid Cube. But of course Pic Flex Cam has a higher flexibility. You
can use it on hand, bag, buckle, leg, skateboard, or bicycle handlebars -
without additional mounting. Each of these methods provides unique video
results.
The Boud still holds Pic Flex Cam campaign in crowdfunding
site, Indie Gogo. There are two types offered: a basic version for US $ 79 and
a character version for US $ 89. The release of this product is scheduled to
take place in September 2015.
