The development of smartphones, tablets and wearable devices
indeed is so fast, but it didn't stop electronics vendors to produce a new
laptop. One of them is Lenovo; they have just launched duo thin and light
laptops with quality specifications. The duo laptops are Lenovo LaVie Z andLaVie Z 360. Both were first introduced at CES 2015, but Lenovo has just
marketed them few days ago.
Both of them don't have too much difference apart from their
physical designs. The LaVie Z and LaVie Z 360 have the same thickness, only
about 16.9 mm, and weighs under 1 kg - LaVie Z 0,78 kg and LaVie Z 360 0,93 kg.
The LaVie Z 360 is slightly heavier because it brings smart hinge where you can
rotate the screen up to 360 degrees for use as a tablet.
If seen from the numbers above, these duo laptops are indeed
thicker than the Apple MacBook new generation, but the weight is good enough
where the weight of Apple MacBook new generation is about 0.92 kg. This
achievement may happen due to the use of magnesium-lithium material as body
construction of Lenovo LaVie Z and LaVie Z 360.
Despite having a super light weight, it doesn't mean that LenovoLaVie Z and LaVie Z 360 bring ordinary specifications. Lenovo has pinned Intel
Core i7-5500U processor speed of 2.4 GHz, with Intel HD Graphics 5500 GPU which
becomes the energy supplier of the 13.3 inch screen. The screen also receives
special attention; there are 10 points multitouch panel and a resolution of
2560 x 1440.
Furthermore, the two laptops are equipped with 8 GB
RAM, 256 GB SSD storage, 9 hours of
battery power and Windows 8.1 operating system - the update to Windows 10 will
be available later. In addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the LaVie Z and LaVie Z360 also bring a pair of USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, SD card reader and also microphone
and headphone jacks.
With such a solid specification, Lenovo is positioning the
LaVie Z and LaVie Z 360 in the high-end segment. The price offered is $ 1,499
for the LaVie Z and $ 1,699 for the LaVie Z 360. Lenovo reportedly will also
release a variant with an Intel Core i5 for $ 1,299 (LaVie Z) and $ 1,499 (LaVie
Z 360).
