'Find My Phone' feature or the like has become something
common in 2015. Almost all smartphones manufacturers have pinned similar
features to their products such as Apple, Samsung, and Sony. And Google has
also offered a more universal solution for Android users through the Android Device Manager.
The principle is simple: when your smartphone is lost, you
just need to open a special website on the computer browser, and then the
location of your smartphone will soon be known - with a note that the
smartphone is connected to the internet. If this method is still considered not
enough, you can utilize the latest solution offered by Google.
You can now find the lost Android smartphone from Google.
There are two requirements you must do: 1) You have to install the latest
version of Google Search app on the smartphone and 2) You are logged in with
the same Google account on the computer browser.
If these two conditions have been met, then you only need to
Googling 'find my phone' in the browser of your computer and the smartphone
location will be displayed on the map. If the location is near to you, you can
also make the smartphone rings to help you find it.
However, this feature works only to find the location of
your smartphone. Other actions such as remote wipe or the like still need
access to the Android Device Manager. Simply put, Android Device Manager is now
designed as the 'final way' if the location of a lost smartphone is nowhere to
be found.
