It turned out that Huawei was not only bringing one, but two
of their new flagship devices. Right behind the new Huawei P8 smartphone,
there's a device with wider display. The participants of Huawei event in London
was surprised by the presence of P8max phablet. For Huawei, it was a perfect
blend between smartphone and high-end tablet.
Huawei P8max is a phablet that carries the 6.8-inch screen
at a resolution of 1080p, with display ratio and body of 83 percent. It means
that the P8max frame is smaller than the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus. Even though
the touchscreen looks wide, but the most impressive factor lies in its
thickness, only 6.8 millimeters. The form itself can be said as the wider
version of Huawei P8.
Another special thing can be seen in the combination of
design and material used, the P8max is made from special material called DX19.
It has seven layers of heat conductors, nine times more effective than steel
and three times more potent than the standard magnesium. This approach allows
Huawei to minimize the size of the frame while reducing heat dissipation to
ensure user comfort.
Huawei P8max Phablet is claimed as the first handset that's
composed with magnesium - a similar metal of aircraft construction. Huawei
promises solid build quality, stronger signals and lower radiation. 94 percent
of its casing consists of metal. The manufacturer also provides quality
entertainment features such as 0.91 CC sound chamber, 1 Watt loudspeaker, Smart
PA amplifier.
The larger size also allows Huawei to embed capable
hardware. Huawei P8max takes advantage of their own on-chip system, Hisilicon
Kirin 935 of 64-bit octa-core processor and Mali-T628 MP4 GPU. You will also
find 3GB RAM, 64GB internal storage (expandable via MicroSD up to 64GB). For
connectivity there are GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. In addition, there are
ambient light sensor, accelerometer, proximity, compass and gyroscope.
Huawei P8max is powered by 4.360mAh battery which is claimed
can last for two days on a single charge, or at least 15 hours to play non-stop
video. This device has a 13-megapixel main camera that uses an image processor
similar to DSLR, besides that there is 5 megapixel camera on the front of this
phablet.
This brand-new phablet will be launched in 30 countries,
about a month after the release of Huawei P8. They also prepare some
accessories such as leather cover and an adjustable stand. The 'entry-level'
version of P8max with 16GB flash memory is sold at price of € 550, and its 64GB
variant is priced at € 650.
