Skateboard is not only used to perform extreme attractions,
but also becomes a transportation mean to replace a bike. The Skateboard's
compact shape makes it ideal to be commute companion although our feet are
still needed to push it.
These last few years, there are many electric skateboard
created, relying on electric motor to drive the wheels automatically. Electric
skateboard is definitely good news for our legs, but the consequences is the
skateboard will be less portable and heavier.
But not so with the Bolt, this electric skateboard is
believed to be the smallest and lightest in the world. On paper, the dimensions
are very compact, with a length of only 60 cm, width 25 cm and 10.5 cm high.
Its weight is about 4 kg, you can tie this skateboard in a backpack, and then
you can carry it easily.
Inside the board, there has been embedded lithium-polymer
battery with a capacity of 5000mAh. This battery connects directly to a power
motor of 2,000watt at near of the rear wheels. Interestingly, this skateboard
can also become a power bank in emergency times. If you flip the wooden board,
you'll find a USB port that’s ready to recharge your device.
How fast Bolt can run? The maximum speed is up to 21 km/h -
as fast as a bicycle - and it can reach a distance of approximately 10 km with
a fully charged battery condition. When the battery runs out, you can fill it
up to full in less than 90 minutes.
Bolt comes with a small remote control with wireless
connectivity. Push the joystick forward to increase speed, and backwards to
brake. At night, the lamps that are mounted on the front and back will help to
provide light.
A Bluetooth LE chip also has been embedded into the body of
this electric skateboard. In the future, the developer plans to bring a
companion app for mobile devices and integration with wearable devices. The price
of Bolt during the campaign on Indiegogo is quite high, with the lowest pledge
of $ 599, plus $ 99 for international shipping cost. The retail price will rise
becomes $ 999.
