Toshiba has just introduced Satellite Radius 12 in the IFA
2015 event. This laptop is claimed has supported all new features brought by
Windows 10, such as Windows Hello, a biometric technology that utilizes
infrared camera to recognize the user's face.
Satellite Radius 12 has been equipped with a USB-C port. But
in order to not bothering the user with a series of adapters, Toshiba has
pinned a pair of USB 3.0 ports. All of this is packaged in a compact aluminum
design, weighing less than 1.2 kg and about 1.5 cm thick.
1.5 cm? But it sounds too thick for modern standard laptop?
Well, keep in mind that the Toshiba’s Satellite Radius 12 is a 2-in-1 laptop,
which means the screen is equipped with special hinges so that the user can
rotate the screen 360 degrees, aka creates a tablet instantly.
Toshiba’s Satellite Radius 12 has a special screen. The
touch screen is not only equipped with a 12.5 inch IPS technology, but also 4K
resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels). The screen is covered by Gorilla Glass NBT
layer, which is claimed to be more scratch resistant than soda lime glass up to
8-10 times. This screen can also present the 100 percent color space of Adobe
RGB and has received certification from Technicolor.
To display the sharp graphics, Toshiba entrusts the
sixth-generation of Intel Core processor that has just officially been
introduced to public. Intel believes that the processor is able to process
graphics in 4K resolution without requiring the assistance of an external
graphics card, but at the same time also more power efficient.
Toshiba’s Satellite Radius 12 is planned to be marketed in
the United States in the fourth quarter of this year, without a definite date.
So far there's no information related to the price and availability in other
regions.
