Yahoo Mail app gets major update

Yahoo Mail app

Yahoo Mail now has been 18 years old, and to celebrate its anniversary, Yahoo has just released a new version of Yahoo Mail application. This app has been overhauled, and can even be used by the owners of other email accounts.

Yes, the new version of Yahoo Mail application can be used as a client to the owners of email accounts on Outlook.com, Hotmail or AOL Mail. Yahoo claims that there's no feature trimming when the application is used along with other email accounts.

The new version of Yahoo Mail offers several features; the first feature is about the password. Previously, Yahoo had introduced On-Demand Password feature, which's claimed as the first step towards the modern era where the password is no longer relevant. Yahoo is now officially introducing the Account Key feature. So now every time you want to access your Yahoo account on a desktop or other device, a notification will appear on the smartphone, when you tap "Yes", then you will soon enter your Yahoo account without having to type the difficult password.

Yahoo Mail app now looks cleaner and tidier than before. Yahoo also claims that its performance is much more responsive and smoother. Interestingly, you can also access the Yahoo News whenever you want simply by touching the icon in the upper right - email and news in the same application.

Search function now also has been enhanced; you can now search for e-mails which only contain attachments from your colleagues or friends. When you write an email, you can choose to include photos and videos as an attachment or directly put them in the email body. The last interesting feature is you can hold the Compose button to send an email to yourself quickly.

The new version of Yahoo Mail app is already available for both iOS and Android users. The interface has been optimized for mobile devices such as the iPad.
