Satechi has one important mission:
helping consumers to live more efficiently. For a decade, the San Diego-based
company has run its mission by creating a wide range of office accessories,
cameras and audio. But the trend of using smartphone by the gaming enthusiasts
seems to encourage this company to expand its products range.
Satechi introduces a new gamepad,
there's no attractive codename for this product, the manufacturer simply calls
it ‘Bluetooth Wireless Universal Game Controller Gamepad’. It's made to
facilitate the consumers to enjoy the games on a mobile device. But besides
become a better alternative than the touch screen navigation, this gamepad is
storing a variety of unique abilities.
About the button placement, the
layout of Satechi gamepad is almost the same with the Xbox controller. The
position of thumbstick is made asymmetrical, and the directional pad layout is
aligned with the right analog stick. The XYAB colors are also the same, and the
peripheral delivers a total of 14 buttons, including Select, Start, Mode, Link,
and Mouse, and four shoulder triggers.
Gamepad has a spring holder which
can be moved in and out, it can also be adjusted to the width of the handset.
Satechi mentions the compatibility to several brands: iDevice, Samsung Galaxy
Note, HTC, and LG. We can immediately see the flexibility of Satechi Gamepad;
it is connected wirelessly via Bluetooth, where the device can be hooked to the
holder or accessed remotely just like the home console - a maximum of about
seven meters.
The integrated spring holder is
positioned in such a way to ensure the user can get the most optimal vision
angle to the smartphone screen, gamepad panel, and also fingers. This gamepad
is powered by non-removable 220mAh battery that's combined with sleep mode,
when all the features are combined the consumers will get the best mobile
gaming experience.
Another unique capability is the
support for different control modes. Through Joystick Mode for Windows, the
gamepad is compatible for PC games such as Grand Theft Auto V, Mad Max, up to
Fallout 4 (not yet released but mentioned by Setachi), you just need to
customize the button functions. The Mouse Mode is designed to handle the free
titles on Google Play. Lastly is the iCade Mode which is designed for classic
games via iOS.
