Finally, after more than a year since the rumors were
circulating, Fossil unveils its first smartwatch. Not only smartwatch, this
famous manufacturer also introduces a line which contains some wearable devices
at once, all of them are the results of collaboration with Intel.
The line is named Fossil Q; it consists of two smartbands
and two smartwatches. Fossil proudly explains that this device line has the
best balance between design and function, capable of presenting only the important
information needed when users need them.
The two smartbands are Fossil Q Reveler and Fossil Q
Dreamer. Both actually have the same features, but one is designed for women,
and the other one is for men. Both are not only able to monitor physical
activity, but also forward the notification in the simple forms, i.e. vibration
and LED lights that emit particular color to indicate who is trying to contact
the users.
Next, there is Fossil Q Grant. This device is quite unique,
because it is actually a regular wristwatch that features a smart strap. Its
function is basically the same as the Fossil Q Reveler and Fossil Q Dreamer; it
will monitor physical activity and forward the notification in the form of LED
lights. However, as the analog watch of course it can also function as a
timepiece.
Then we come to the last device, Fossil Q Founder. This
device is the Fossil's first Android Wear smartwatch. It’s utilizing the
technology that's provided by Intel and Google which is eventually packaged in
an elegant form of Fossil smartwatch. Not much information is given about the
Fossil Q Founder, but the operational of this smartwatch will rely on a touch
screen.
The Fossil Q Line is scheduled to go on sale on October 25 -
except the Fossil Q Founder that will follow in the 'holiday season'. Fossil Q
Reveler and Fossil Q Dreamer are priced at $ 125, Fossil Q Grant is offered for
$ 175- $ 195, while Fossil Q Founder is sold at $ 275. All these devices are
compatible with Android and iOS devices.
