Economic crisis in 2008 also hit the Bang & Olufsen very
hard, the sales of this audio manufacturer decreased sharply, resulting in the
dismissal of 300 employees, forcing them to leave the development of mobile
phones and MP3 players. But the good news is until this moment the B&O
still stands proudly, this company is celebrating the 90th anniversary by
releasing a new product.
When other manufacturers start to shift the focus on
portability, Bang & Olufsen doesn't want to leave its tradition to unite
the art of acoustic speaker technology with top quality audio. BeoLab 90 is the
newest innovation of B&O; this is a giant speaker for audiophile. The
manufacturer itself admits that this product is not for everyone, but it is
perfect for some right individuals.
BeoLab 90 has a 125-centimeter tall and weighs 137
kilograms, the design looks contrast with the other speakers in general, the
work of designer Frackenpohl Poulheim. The shape resembles to an artistic
monolith, in which every sides keep drivers in a variety of sizes. Precisely,
there are 18 Scan-Speak drivers: seven 30mm Illuminator tweeters, seven 86mm
Illuminator midrange, three 212mm Discovery woofers, plus the 260mm Revelator
woofer in front.
The drivers are placed precisely in order to provide
360-degree production sound. B&O also embeds Active Room Compensation
technology so that the furniture and walls in the home won't reduce the output
performance. Then, to make sure everyone in the room get the same experience of
enjoying the music, you can expand its reach with Beam Width Control feature.
The configuration and setting can be done entirely through
the remote application on the smartphone. You are welcome to determine the
direction and range of sound, plus preset options and profile storage
capabilities. Its inputs support analog, digital, and wireless: USB
(24-bit/192kHz), S/P-DIF (24-bit/192kHz, Toslink (24-bit/96kHz), XLR, RCA and
WISA - wireless technology in 5,2-5,8GHz
transmission, serving a 24-bit 96KHz audio without compression.
BeoLab 90 is utilizing a combination of the latest
generation of ICEpower amplifiers in 14-channels, plus four Class D amplifiers,
making sure B&O BeoLab 90 can produce a booming sound at 8,200-watt per
speaker.
BeoLab 90 will soon be available in mid-November 2015. If
you are interested, you should prepare cash approximately US $ 78,000 for a
