Still from IFA 2015 in Berlin, Huawei officially unveils its
new flagship smartphone called Huawei Mate S. According to its press release,
Huawei Mate S is a smartphone that's designed with luxurious design and
equipped with technology that can meet with today needs.
Huawei Mate S offers a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen that presents
a wide visual experience in the dimension that's claimed quite comfortable to
be gripped, i.e. 149.8mm x 75.3mm x 7.2mm and weighs 156g including the battery.
To compensate for its big body, Huawei relies on Hisilicon
Kirin 935 chipset which has octa-core processor (4× 2.2GHz and 4× 1.5GHz). There
are three memory options you can choose: 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. All three are
using the same 3GB RAM.
Huawei Mate S is also equipped with optimal photographic
capabilities, with the presence of 13MP main camera that supports OIS and RGBW
and dual tone flash. In addition there is an 8MP camera on the front.
Interestingly, Huawei inserts Force Touch technology that's
accompanied with Knuckle 2.0 feature that's currently adopted only by a few new
devices, one of which is Apple Watch.
Unfortunately the Force Touch feature won't be available for
all countries. Although Huawei has planned to bring this new smartphone to 30
countries including China, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Spain, South Africa
and the United Arab Emirates.
But with the high quality components, plus 2.5D Gorilla
Glass 4 on the screen, and also the fingerprint scanner on the back, Huawei Mate S is quite promising to compete at the forefront.
