IFA 2015 stage apparently also becomes a place for
electronic manufacturers to show off their gaming devices. If Acer prefers to
widen its Predator line into the smartphone segment, Asus still insists with
the gaming laptop category by introducing two new products: Asus ROG G752 and
Asus ROG GX700.
Asus ROG G752
Asus ROG G752 is an upgrade of the G751, but not only
updating the inner components, Asus also revises the design of the G751 in
order to make the G752 looks more modern. One of the most striking changes is
given in the rear part, where the ROG G752 now has elongated ventilation hole,
making it look more powerful than its predecessor.
At the same time, Asus ROG G752 is offered in three new colors:
plasma copper, titanium armor and red lava. The keyboard still retains the keys
to a depth of 2.5 mm, while on the sides there is now USB-C port.
The lowest variant of Asus ROG G752 is powered by Intel's
sixth-generation processor, the Intel Core i7-6700HQ, plus Nvidia GeForce
GTX965M GPU and 17.3-inch IPS screen resolution of 1080p. Its RAM capacity can
be configured up to 64 GB DDR4, while its storage combines 128/256 GB SSD and
HDD with a maximum capacity of 2 TB.
But for the first time, the top variant of Asus ROG G752 will
pack an Intel Core i7-6820HK processor. Yup, this K series processor can be
overclocked to enhance the performance. Accompanying the processor, there is
Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M GPU that will support the 17.3-inch IPS screen
resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, aka 4K.
Asus ROG G752 is scheduled to begin shipping in the 4th
quarter of this year, with prices starting at $ 1,499.
Asus ROG GX700
Along with ROG G752, Asus also announces ROG GX700. Asus
doesn't reveal this new gaming laptop in detail. But certainly it is the first
gaming laptop that's packing an external liquid cooling system.
The specification is still incomplete, which could be
confirmed so far are just the screen size of 17.3 inch with a resolution of
3840 x 2160, Intel Skylake K series processor that can be overclocked plus
Nvidia GPU - maybe GTX Titan?
Asus plans to release it in the 4th quarter of 2015, and the
price along with full details will be announced in other occasion.
