Archos is known as electronics manufacturer that quite often
launches multimedia player devices to the market. But along with the popularity
of smartphones and tablets, this French electronics company finally also
competes in this business segment.
A number of Archos smartphones and tablets have been
circulating in the market, last month Archos had just introduced three latest
devices that consisted of two Android devices and one Windows Phone device.
Archos Diamond S and Archos 50 Cesium are two devices that
run with Android OS, while the Archos 50e Helium is a device which runs with
the Windows Phone OS, and becomes the first product of Archos that runs with
Windows Phone. All three will be ready to participate in the IFA 2015 in Berlin
this month.
But apparently, Archos still has one more product which is
an Android phablet device from the Diamond family: Archos Diamond Plus. This
device could be a complementary product to the Archos Diamond S which had been
introduced to the market previously.
Archos Diamond Plus is packed with a 5.5-inch IPS screen,
with a dimension of 152.6 x 76.4 x 8.4 mm and weighs 178 g only. It also has a
slick appearance with curved design on each corner.
By carrying a resolution of 1080 pixels, Diamond Plus screen
has 1.5 times higher resolution than the Diamond S which only carries 720 pixel
screen. The device is orchestrated by MediaTek's MT6753 64-bit SoC with a 1.5
GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, and Mali-T720MP3 GPU. In addition this phablet
also brings 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage that can be expanded via a
microSD memory card slot.
Archos Diamond Plus runs with Android 5.1 Lollipop and
supports Dual SIM and 4G LTE network. It has a 16 megapixel main camera on the
back and an 8 megapixel camera on the front.
To support daily use, Archos has pinned a 2,850mAh battery
with fast charging feature, this feature allows users to charge the battery in
a short time.
The device is ready to be presented at the IFA 2015 in Berlin, which runs from September 4, 2015, but this device will start to come
on the market in November with a price of £ 179.99, or equivalent to $ 202.
