Micro Lego Computer, a mini desktop PC for Lego fans

Micro Lego Computer

A desktop computer with a modular casing perhaps sounds unfamiliar. But desktop computer actually consist of a series of peripheral modules that are arranged in order to be an integrated computing machine.

But the project that's developed by Mike Schropp looks very unique; Mike has managed to create a computer by using Lego blocks as its casing. This mini PC is called Micro Lego Computer.

This is not the first time Mike makes computer from Lego, he had also released a similar computer desktop device but with a larger size and had a higher specification. The Lego computer which was released in early 2015 was sold at higher prices, starting from $ 999 for each unit.

The latest version of Micro Lego Computer has dimension of 5 x 5 x 4 inch and is offered at a cheaper price, only $ 599. The specification is sufficient enough to meet the daily computing needs: Intel Core i3 Broadwell processor, 4GB RAM, and 128GB SSD (Solid State Storage). In addition there are also WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 connection. Other component such as the Memory Card Reader is available in the add-on module that can be added if the user wants it.

If you feel that the above specification is not powerful enough, there is an option that allows you to choose your own specification and replace some of major components with a higher capacity, such as Core i5 or Core i7 processor, increase the amount of RAM and increase the capacity of SSD as a storage medium.

If that's still not enough, you can also buy some Micro Lego Computer and compile them into a computer that can be customized for different needs.

Mike Schropp's mini computer uses Intel NUC machine that has been designed to be able to be customized by the user.

This device also has computing components that are designed without the need for a fan (fanless), Mike Schropp has provided gaps between the Lego blocks to facilitate the air when the computer device is used.

Micro Lego Computer can run a variety of operating systems ranging from Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and also Ubuntu Linux.
