Latte art or drawing on coffee by utilizing a combination of cream and froth indeed has a lot fans. However, unfortunately it's not easy to create an interesting image above the coffee, the barista requires a lot experiences to be proficient in this job.
But now through a service called Ripples, creating image on
coffee no longer requires special training. Combined with mobile device,
everyone can print any image desired. Ripples brings technology similar to
inkjet printer and 3D, but it uses coffee extract as the ink. Steam CC
developer tries to present a new method of expression and socializing.
Ripples has two main components: the Ripple Maker and a
companion application. Ripple Maker can be purchased by a coffee shop, and consumers
can create their own latte art by the companion app. The printing process will
only take ten seconds. You can choose a lot of contents, start from texts,
illustrations, up photos. The result is certainly in a monochromatic brown
color.
There is one thing to remember, Ripple Maker is not a coffee
machine, it's only latte art printer. This means that the ability of
professional barista is still needed to serve delicious coffee. Ripples service
can be used in a very simple way. In the application, there are three options:
select a picture, create your own, or 'surprise' option. Developer team has
prepared hundreds of illustrations, plus a search feature.
Ripple Maker has a size of 21.6 × 26.67 cm, it is connected
to the handset via Wi-Fi connection. Steam CC ensures there's no artificial
coloring though the printouts are presented in high quality results, it can
happen due to Coffee Scale technology, 100 percent pure coffee. This machine
can support a cup with maximum wide of 11.4cm and height 17,8cm. And you are welcome
to send your own art work to enrich the Ripples content ecosystem.
Ripple Maker is scheduled to go on sale in September 2015
for US $ 1000, while the subscription fee for the Ripples service is offered at
US $ 75 for one month.
