Although it has been introduced since a few years ago, but
most of fitness trackers on the market are intended for walking and running
activities. Though on the other hands there are other popular sports such as
swimming and cycling which also need wearable devices to record the athletes’
physical conditions.
For these segments, Garmin presents its latest products:
HRM-Tri for triathlon athletes and HRM-Swim for swimmers. Both products can
monitor users' heart rate accurately. The sensor itself is capable of recording
heart rate data up to 20 hours. The data collected will be sent to the
compatible Garmin devices such as the Forerunner 920XT.
HRM-Tri itself is the tiniest and lightest heart rate
monitor module that's ever created by Garmin. This module has a soft rope with
curved corners to make it comfortable to be used. Once used outside the water,
this tool will be able to show the data when running, such as contact time with
the ground, the feet movements’ harmony, and so on. HRM-Tri battery can last up
to 10 months and can be replaced easily.
While HRM-Swim will be able to record the swim data such as
speed, the strokes of hands and feet, as well as heart rate. For batteries,
HRM-Swim can last up to 18 months.
Garmin will sell the HRM-Tri and HRM-Swim in October 2015 at
a price of US $ 129.99 and US $ 99.99.
