Unlike Apple which has a lot of physical stores in various
countries, Xiaomi prefers to sell its products online, with the help of a
number of well-known retailers. But who thought that Xiaomi will ask for help
from other startup like Uber?
Through his Facebook account, Hugo Barra the Vice President
of International for Xiaomi, announced that the company is working with Uber to
sell Mi Note in Singapore and Malaysia.
The users of Uber in both countries can book Xiaomi Mi Note
just like when they want to book the Uber private taxi. But to give the same
opportunity to all customers, each order is limited only for one unit of Mi
Note.
The ordering process is very easy. Consumers only need to
open the Uber app as usual, and then choose the option "Xiaomi" on
the slider at the bottom. On the map there will be orange cars that are
specifically assigned to distribute the latest Xiaomi smartphone.
Furthermore, consumers only need to wait for their Mi Note
orders delivered to their homes. The payment is made via credit card that's
linked to the customers’ Uber accounts. According to the plan, the selling of
Xiaomi Mi Note via Uber in Singapore and Malaysia will begin on July 27, 2015.
