GoPro is very popular with its action cameras, but it doesn't make GoPro stop innovating, let alone a number of competitors start to come, for example, Xiaomi Yi Camera and also SJCam which both are offered at a cheaper price than the GoPro camera products.

To be able to survive and compete in the fierce market competition, GoPro is preparing a new mobile application that will allow users to take advantage of GoPro action cameras optimally. The application is intended for smartphone or tablet, and has an ability to edit photos and videos directly from the smartphone or tablet that's being used.

Currently indeed GoPro already has a mobile application that can be used to adjust the settings and see the preview of  videos and photos taken, but now the similar application is also owned by Xiaomi Yi Camera.

Tony Bates as GoPro leader has recently announced that GoPro is making a mobile application that will facilitate the users to edit photos and videos with more complex capability, such as add watermark, crop and merge videos directly from user's smartphones. Reportedly the application will be completed soon and is tested to be ready to be launched at the end of the summer (American time) or about August 2015.

In addition to providing a new mobile application, the GoPro also has set up cloud-based storage service that allows users to directly store the videos and photos taken, and then can be accessed and displayed by other devices or shared to social media services.

With the two new services, it is likely that the users will no longer have to involve computer devices to edit and store the contents that have been taken by the GoPro action cameras.
